Just a few days now until I leave for an unexpectedly awesome US running extravaganza.
The first run is the Twin Cities Marathon, and I’m being flown over for it and shown the city and the course, put up in the awesome Crowne Plaza in St. Paul, fed, watered, and shmoozed all thanks to the Medtronic Global Heroes Program. Medtronic is sponsoring the race and bringing over 25 of us running cyborgs who depend on either an electronic medical device or implant to thrive and survive.
More than one reason to be grateful for my insulin pump, ooh yeah! Any friends interested in tracking my progress on race day (Starting 11PM Sunday October 8 US time) can go to the event Home Page or to this spectator page and track my race number – 227.
Then it’s off to Colorado the following day to drive about the place and run high altitude thin air canyons until I puke, then run some more, with a visit to The Boulder Running Company thrown in just because their range of running gear is killer.
Then to Utah for the short version at Slick Rock in Moab’s red alien landscape. This sweet video is biking – obviously – but all the running videos had either totally gross soundtracks or redundant walking poles.
